With 20 years of experience, Jason Joyce served as Restoration Director at Moderne Gallery in Philadelphia, an internationally renowned decorative art gallery. There, he revitalized contemporary and antique furniture and objects, now displayed in private and museum collections.
Jason enriched his skills with coursework in woodworking, sculpture, carpentry, and metalwork as well as his interest, over the years, in furniture craftsmanship
His introduction to restoration was the result of apprenticeships under a Shaker Furniture finisher and Art Deco French polisher. During the period of 2009-10, he furthered his craft in Buenos Aires, Argentina, contributing to the restoration of historic homes. Jason specializes in furniture refinishing, restoration and repair, including George Nakashima, Wharton Esherick and other artists from The Studio Craft Movement. He is most likely the foremost restorer of Nakashima and other furniture artists outside of the Nakashima studio.

WE ARE FULLY INSURED
We can address any structural issues, such as loose joints, broken parts, or missing pieces. We use traditional joinery techniques to rebuild and reinforce the furniture, ensuring its strength and stability while maintaining the integrity of the piece.
We return pieces to their original beauty using minimal processes by carefully removing surface build-up and old finish and applying the appropriate new finish. Light sanding may be used and color may be added where needed for new lustre or to enhance existing patina.
Here, we get to the bare bones by completely removing old finishes We offer a variety of finishes, from traditional stains, paints, and dyes to contemporary varnishes to enhance the natural beauty of the wood. Each layer is applied with precision, creating a protective barrier that not only adds luster but also safeguards against future wear.
We specialize in several different finishes including shellac, lacquer, and other varnishes as well as hand-rubbed oil finishes that enhance the wood's luster and create a barrier to protect against future wear.
Through our in-house contributors, we are able to offer additional expert services, these include: upholstery for our customers having other services performed, antique clock repair, oil- gilding, inlay and marquetry.
